COVID-19 info

Our message to current patients:

Birth & Beyond will be limiting our focus to pregnant patients and those with urgent GYN concerns. All prenatal, postpartum, and urgent GYN appointments will remain. We are asking those of you with scheduled annual exams and other non-urgent appointments to reschedule to a future date. Please call the office at (203) 318-8884 to reschedule.

If you have an appointment with us and you have a fever (>100.4°) or cough, please call us first. DO NOT come to the office if you have these symptoms.

To read the full message, please see the Facebook post here.

Although we do want to meet your partners and other family members, please do not bring extra people to your appointment. We have implemented additional disinfection practices and are making efforts to limit people in the office to one client at a time. During office visits, we are wearing face masks and maintaining a 6 foot distance except during necessary physical exams. Orientation meetings and 28- and 35-week group meetings are being conducted online via video conference. Call the office with any questions.

Information for pregnant women and families considering transferring to home birth care:

Whether you are concerned about visitor restrictions, disease exposure, or the logistics of giving birth in a hospital at this time and are considering home birth, we are accepting new and transferring clients.

If you have already been receiving routine prenatal care, please call us at (203) 318-8884 to discuss transferring into our practice. We will first determine if you are a candidate for home birth.  If you are in your second trimester or later, it is very important that you call us as soon as possible. The closer you get to your due date, the more difficult it becomes to establish care with a new provider and to be adequately prepared for a home birth. At this time, decisions about transfers of care late in pregnancy will be made on a case-by-case basis.

General guidance:

The CDC is the best resource for guidance at this time. Please follow all guidelines regarding social distancing, canceling gatherings, and cleaning protocols. DO YOUR PART and STAY APART!
